When your emails are filled with inspiration, strategies, and solutions for your audience, it deepens your relationship with your prospects and gains their trust.
Even more, you are positioning yourself as an authority in your market so that you’re no longer a little fish in a big pond, but now you’re the big CATCH!
We’re breaking it down:
4 ways to cut the fluff and get your emails opened in our email marketing
“Cheat Sheet” below:
1. K.I.S.S = Keep It Super Simple
You don’t want to write an 800-word email that exhausts your audience before they get to the end of the first sentence. That’s the fastest way to the trash bin. Figure out what you want to say and do just that. Be direct, keep it short, cut the fat and dumb it down. A good rule of thumb is to write as if you are speaking to a 3rd grader. A hot tip to try; copy your email and paste it into wordcounter.net.
It will give you an inside look at how many words and sentences are in your email but more importantly what reading level your email is at and approximately how long it should take to read.
2. CTA = Call to Action
A call to action directs people to take an action you want them to take. For example, “hit reply”, “share your results” “head over to my website”. Including one and only one CTA is a great way to move your prospects through your customer journey and lead them to the sale.
3. Quickie
Think of a small “quick win” you could teach your audience that won’t take more than ten minutes to complete or 500 words to explain. Imagine how rewarding it would be to know your reader made an accomplishment from your quickie! Break down the process into easy-to-follow steps. Share examples as you go if possible.
4. You over I
Write your emails to your best customer/client, not to your whole list. In other words, eliminate words like “all of you”, or statements like, “how’s everyone doing?” Imagine sending an email to 1 person because if you do, your reader will feel as if you are talking directly to them. That is what will create a true and authentic connection with them.
Now it’s time to take the plunge. Print and save our email marketing cheat sheet and follow these steps as you start to build meaningful and valuable relationships with your prospects.
The better you serve your audience the deeper the relationship you will have and the more you will stand out as the go-to expert in your market.
