Ally Shoes

Women are conquering the world. That’s what originally made Amanda & Lisa imagine the GWGWG mission in the first place to connect more, grow more & give more with their community of women. It’s no wonder that they’ve fallen madly in love with Ally Shoes & their female founder Samantha Dong.  This innovative fashion brand is designed for women by women &  reimagines how functional fashion pieces support women every day while encouraging them to express themselves and their style. Renowned for designing pain-free heels for power women on the go, we want to say THANK YOU ALLY shoes for FINALLY allowing us to look fashion forward while doing what we do best.

As CEO & Founder, Samantha is passionate about empowering women through fashion and making luxury footwear more accessible for women on the move. After a foot injury, Samantha couldn’t find shoes that fit. She teamed up with the best creative minds including designer Sara Jaramillo and podiatry expert, Dr. Roxann Clarke, to design stylish heels for all women. Ally Shoes continues to disrupt the footwear industry with intentional craftsmanship. The team makes heels that are scientifically engineered to alleviate pain.

Amanda & Lisa had the honor of meeting Sam via a connection they were given through another female friend. Each of our founders are proud owners of their very own pair of ALLY heels and they can’t stop raving about them. Amanda loves her pick, “silver shimmer” because she can edge up a pair of jeans or add a sparkle to polish off a more formal look & Lisa who chose a more traditional “black suede” that she can always rely on. When we asked Amanda & Lisa about their experience with the shoes, Lisa said, “There’s nothing sexier than a high heel”… “but nothing is worse than the pain it causes” Amanda laughed. Until you experience walking on Ally heels, then you’ll never understand the feeling of being in a heel that feels like walking on clouds” they said.

Making Heels Your Ally At Work Whether it’s the holiday collection for a special occasion or a stylish heel to wear every day, Ally Shoes has a fit for you. This year, Fast Company named Ally Shoes “the most comfortable heels to wear to work.” Their online shop offers a range of colors to accent your workwear. Finally, a heel that looks polished and professional and has lasting comfort for the day. Women turn to ALLY heels to stride to work and we love that support their hustle.

Love what you see but don’t know what size to buy? Not to worry! They make finding your fit a hassle-free process. Take their online Fit Finder Quiz to customize your Ally size and width, or request a Fit Kit by mail. If your Local to NYC then schedule an in-person Custom Fit Appointment. Done + done!

Join us December 2nd in NYC and have a chance to win a pair of ALLY shoes. This raffle will raise money for Bottomless Closet, our partner charity for this quarter.

Doctor Tobias

When PR & Social Media Consultant Sofia reached out to GWGWG to share that her client Doctor Tobias was interested in supporting our organization because of our partnership with the NICU at NY Presbyterian we were honored! Sofia explained that the Doctor recently had a premature grandson and he was interested in supporting the GWGWG mission & partnership. Co-Founder Amanda Hall set up a coffee date with Sofia and the two girls hit it off immediately. With a shared love of hustle & grind for their work the obvious conversation arose to see how GWGWG could collaborate with this Doctor.

Dr. Geoffrey Tobias is an artist as well as a plastic surgeon who specializes solely in Rhinoplasty. As a young man, Dr. Tobias was an avid painter and sculptor, entering Tufts University as an art major before becoming fascinated with science and medicine. His artistry is evident in every aspect of the rhinoplasty procedures he performs. Dr. Tobias, whose background in art leads him to focus on detail, focuses on the nose. It is precisely this concentration on rhinoplasty that distinguishes him in the discipline, defining him as a perfectionist in his area of expertise.

When Sofia asked our Co-Founders how her client could become more involved with our community, Lisa & Amanda thought long and hard about this collaboration. We are a female-centric organization but surely we’re not here to shut anyone out who supports our mission. More importantly, 2 points were undeniable; one was our connection to social media manager Sofia and two was Dr. Tobias’s philosophy, which is maintaining each patient’s individuality and facial harmony. We are all about feeling confident in who you are and what you look like and we love that Dr. T takes your concern and simply perfects what you were already blessed with instead of changing what you look like.

So what is Rhinoplasty anyway?? We needed to clarify even for ourselves so let us make this easy for you. Xoxo Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, is a plastic surgery procedure for correcting and reconstructing the nose. There are two types of plastic surgery used – reconstructive surgery that restores the form and functions of the nose and cosmetic surgery that improves the appearance of the nose.

Dr. Tobias has performed over 10,000 no-scar closed rhinoplasties. He is an Associate Professor at Mount Sinai and a former Rhinoplasty Association President. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Tobias has been voted New York’s Top Closed Rhinoplasty Surgeon. As the only NYC Surgeon exclusively  practicing Rhinoplasty, he has perfected his craft as he is completely focused on what he is best at. What’s really cool is that Dr. T’s office is entirely run by women and Sofia shared with us that he really lets them run the show and entrusts them to help him grow his practice! Great idea Dr. T! We support that wholeheartedly!

Our team combed through lists of positive reviews post-op and we chose this recent quote from another happy patient. “I’m only 3 weeks post op and I am in love with the results! My nose is going to get even better over time as it heals. I have no scarring due to Dr. Tobias’s closed rhinoplasty procedure. Everyone who knows me loves the results. It is very natural and it is not visible that I had my nose done to people who don’t know me. I am very happy!”

Great work Dr. T and well done Sofia for connecting our community with your client! Smart Girl!

ABRAMS LAW FIRM

Carolyn Reinach Wolf

Carolyn Reinach Wolf is an Executive Partner in the law firm of Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara, Wolf & Carone, LLP and Director of the Firm’s Mental Health Law practice.

You know when you have a friend who proves to be your biggest cheerleader? That friend; her name is Staci Leibson and she has always been a big supporter of Co-founder Lisa Friesel. At Abrams Fensterman’s annual garden party, Lisa met her networking match when Staci introduced Lisa to Carolyn. Staci knew that these two powerful yet humble women would hit it off. Carolyn made an inspiring mark on Lisa who felt compelled to reach out a week after the event to schedule a meeting to pick her brain and learn every facet of her life’s work.

Lisa grabbed Co-founder, Amanda, and they jumped at the opportunity to learn from Carolyn and hear her story. “When we first met Carolyn we immediately felt the sense of purpose she has always had in her life to help people and then getting to know her we were inspired by her mission to empower women” Lisa said.

As director of Abrams Fensterman’s Mental Health Law practice, Carolyn is the only attorney in the country with a family-focused practice dedicated to serving individuals and families struggling with mental health and alcohol & drug addiction. The girls sat down to hear her inspiring story and learned about how she fell in love with the mental health category in one of her first career roles as a hospital administrator and Director of Hospital Risk Management. She has consistently utilized this background to forge a roadmap and plan for families in order to educate them to mental health and healthcare legal options and legal standards, and navigate the complex world of the mental health and healthcare systems.

Lisa & Amanda immediately fell in love with Carolyn because she is an advocate. An advocate for others in the mental health space and she is doing things that no other attorney is doing in the country with a family-focused mental healthcare practice. What’s more is that being the only named female partner, Carolyn is paving new roads for women and using her leadership to empower women in her role as a member of the New York State Bar Association Women in Law Section as well as sponsoring and speaking at female focused events.

Supported by a team of expert clinicians, Carolyn specializes in guiding individuals and families through the complex landscape of legal issues that impact loved ones and individuals addressing those with serious mental illness, alcohol and/or substance abuse challenges. Her practice works to utilize her mental health toolkit to coordinate professional and institutional community services for those in need.

Ms. Wolf is a regular contributor to Psychology Today and was profiled by The New York Times in a 2013 story entitled, “A Guide in the Darkness,” which ran on the front page of the Sunday Edition Metro section. Carolyn is a Past President of the National Behavioral Intervention Team Association (NaBITA), a membership association serving more than 1,500 professionals in schools, colleges and workplaces whose role is to support individuals in need of mental health intervention and to minimize the potential for school and workplace violence. She is also a frequently invited speaker and consultant to healthcare, mental health and addiction- focused organizations, as well as institutions of higher education, specifically university counseling centers and administrators, and professional associations throughout the country regarding mental health law issues and many of the above-mentioned topics. In addition, Carolyn is an adjunct professor at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, teaching “Law and Psychiatry.” She has been selected to the New York Super Lawyers list since 2013 and the Best Lawyers of America since 2018.

Carolyn holds a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law, an M.S. in Health Services Administration from the Harvard School of Public Health and an M.B.A. in Management from the Hofstra University School of Business. She is admitted to practice in New York State and Federal Courts as well as the U.S. Supreme Court. Prior to practicing law.

A Pretty impressive resume and all the more impressive when you actually have a chance to connect one on one with Carolyn. We are honored that Carolyn chose to invest in our community and is excited to support our mission and purpose.
